Although the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has adopted gender equity as a guiding principle, including a mandate to adopt legislation to enhance member institutions' compliance with Title IX, this article describes the progress that would be made if the NCAA were to adopt legislation tying eligibility for national championships to Title IX compliance.
