#ShowUP

#ShowUP, #JoinIN or just #TRY

ShowUP is our monthly programme to provide direct marketing and promotional support to a range of events – to watch, #TRY or #JoinIN.  It might be watching a rugby match or entering a half marathon . . . when you commit to #ShowUP – you know there will be other ‘newbies’ there – all keen to support WomenSport and SportsWomen.

Why? We believe that if folk don’t #ShowUP and #JoinIN – then the media won’t cover events, organisers won’t provide extra activities, advertisers won’t advertise and TV channels will continue to shun women’s sport. And worst of all . . . the athletes and players won’t feel appreciated, won’t perform as well, miss out on becoming role models and will just give up. You CAN make a difference – whatever the sport.
 

Here’s the programme we have in place for 2014/15.  We will support an event each month which fits WSNet’s values in getting more women more ACTIVE. We don't charge for this but in return we will look for 'Value-In-Kind' reciprocation for our marketing/promotional support.  If you want help reaching our 50,000 plus community please email jo@wsnet.co.uk for an application form.
 

May – SportsBeat Festival – 7/8 June. Sports, Music and Family Fun Gloucester.
Bands & Sport – including RAZORLIGHT alongside Volleyball, Rugby7s & Netball, 2 day tourneys, leading to Finals, includes access to the whole Festival.  Seeking Volunteers are needed for the Festival weekend – contact info@sportbeatfest.com - http://sportbeatfest.com/ @SportbeatFest

June – Henley Women’s Regatta – 20/22 June. International rowing, Henley-on-Thames.
The premier rowing regatta for Women in the UK.  Crews from all around the world race over the famous Henley Regatta course making Henley Women's Regatta the largest international women’s regatta - http://www.hwr.org.uk  @henley_womens  

July – Triathlon Pink, Crystal Palace, Bath, Sunderland, Leeds - culminating in Basildon on 3 August.
The goal of Triathlon Pink is to encourage women of all fitness abilities and backgrounds to participate in a swim, bike and run event, while providing the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research - http://triathlonpink.co.uk  http://triathlonpink.co.uk/

August – No #ShowUP – as the world will be following #GLASGOW2014 with @Twing_IT

September –  Women who Coach - we'll be running a series of intitiatives to encourage women coaches.  Working with a number of small private, commercial and NGB organisatoins we'll be promoting the 'injection' of women in the community who can coach - or 'COAX' - others to get ACTIVE in the COMMUNITY.  Setting up a voluntary group, starting, or offering a franchise or an inititaive for women to gain coaching skills  . . and confidence to COAX others. February – Engadin Ski Marathon, March 8 2015. St Moritz, Switzerland. 
Train in the UK with @SKIGirlsX - a group of top XSki girls - on RollerSkis at five locations in the UK. Prepare for the 42Km race                           
in beautiful Engadin and raise sponsorship for Breakthrough Breast Cancer
