Women’s Sports Network – ACTIVEMapX - Help sheet
Getting started
If you just want to see what's going on in your area - key the first half of your postcode into the map - click on HOME if the screen is not showing the map - and you get this:
If you want to add a class or event - Go to the home page and click on ‘REGISTER’
Add your email address – you must use this with the password you choose to edit / update / add future records. You must agree the T&CS. Click on ‘Complete the Registration’ – you will receive an email – you need to ‘opt-in’ by clicking on the link. Then you can start submitting clubs, classes and events.
Add an event
Once logged in, go to 'Add New Event' - All events are LOCATION based - so you need to select from the drop-down OR look for your location by postcode – ‘Choose location’. Key your postcode in the box and SUBMIT - if the postcode exists and has a LOCATION already listed by another user you will see this:
Unless you have 'submitted' before you are more than likely to have to 'submit' the postcode of the new location. If there is not a location click on 'Add New Location'.
Once you have competed and filled in LOCATION information for that postcode, click on USE and you can add events. Go back to ‘My Events’ if you want to EDIT a RECORD or a LOCATION.
If the postcode you are looking for is NEW - or has been altered recently it may NOT be on our system - if that is the case you will get a 'NUL' error message.
I'm sorry - you will have to mail info@wsnet.co.uk and we will add it.
NUDGE!
Don’t forget you can TWEET details of ANY class at ANY time as a 'nudge' to your followers. Anybody can 'nudge' any events - they don’t have to be logged in!!
Multiple classes at the same location
If you have multiple classes/events you can either add multiple 'events' or you can use a single event but add multiple event information to the Event Description (Long). If you are entering matches or single day events to SPECTATE then you are better entering a number of multiple events, if you are entering a series of (weekly) classes then it is better to add them all into the (Long) Event Description box. You can edit then information yourself using you email address and password.
Please feel free to use the ACTIVEMapX as an adjunct to your advertising/promotion. We open up more functionality soon and are dedicated to providing better access to women's sports events/classes.
ACTIVEMapX – how to code your event/class – we offer FOUR colour choices?
TRY - for beginners getting into sport/fitness - should offer lots of 'coaxing' not coaching PLUS a social infrastructure to help women/girls engage.
SPECTATE - chance to show up and support women's matches/events.
PARTICIPATE - effectively adverts for 'open' competitions which you can enter directly as an individual or team.
COACH - structured coaching sessions/courses to develop skill, strength or endurance. (Currently listed as 'ORGANISE' - this changes on 8th NOvemeber 2016 as part of the ACTIV8afriend programme - www.wsnet.co.uk/activ8
ERRORS
If you find an error in an event you are running – if you didn’t add it yourself (it may have been added as a result of our research or by your NGB /organisation. You will have to re-add the event using YOUR login and then email us to delete the 'old' record after this you can manage your event from your admin section.
POSTCODE ERRORS - If your location is NEW, recently added or very remote it may NOT be on our system - if that is the case you will get an error message. NB our system converts ALL postcodes into a single block of text/numbers – we take out the space to allow searching.
I'm sorry - you will have to mail info@wsnet.co.uk and we will add it.
